Gear for the Climb

One of my favorite things about any hobby is getting to collect all the gear that comes along with it. Climbing is a sport that allows for gear that expresses a lot of personality and flair, with many brands to choose from offering different levels of quality, comfort, and style. I love seeing what gear other people are using. My chalk bag, being a common bag, allows me to connect with others over having the coolest chalk bag at the gym, of course.

Some of the gear I use every day at the gym in order includes a Petzl chalk bag, LA Sportiva Eco Mythos climbing shoes, Black Diamond harness and belay device, and Friction Labs Gorilla Grip chalk. Most, if not all, of this stuff can be found at REI or other sports and outdoor stores. Different brands offer different levels of durability and comfort. I climb at an intermediate level, for instance, so getting my money’s worth is important.
